According to a report in 'The Guardian', 82-year-old Italian teacher Mauro Morandi had been living alone on the island in Budelli since 1989. He went there via the South Pacific, as soon as he got there his boat broke down and he decided to stay on the island. Slowly Mauro fell in love with this deserted island.

Where Mauro Jahan spent many years of his life, it is the Sardinian island of Budelli near Italy, where no one lives. Mauro said the island's sole caretaker was nearing retirement. So they decided to take responsibility for him, so that he could live on this island. Mauro said, 'I liked that quiet and secluded place so much that I decided to spend my life there'.

Myro spent a long time there in peace. After spending about 32 years on the island, at the age of 82, Mauro decided to come among the people. However, he had to take this decision reluctantly, because the Italian government wants to make the Sardinian Islands an environmental sanctuary. After this announcement by the government, Mauro announced that he would no longer live here and would return to the city.
